Four reasons to give it a try
A combination of an age-old method, modern infrared technology, and personal attention.
How does IRW work?
Our bodies are said to be run through by energy pathways, also known as meridians: symmetrical channels running from the crown of the head to the fingertips and toes. These pathways allow your life energy to flow freely. Stress disrupts that balance and can show up as physical or emotional complaints — including a heightened sensitivity to addiction.
During an IRW treatment, a small, focused beam of infrared light is aimed at specific points on the ear that connect to the brain. This stimulation supports the body in restoring its energy balance. No needles are involved — most people find the treatment deeply relaxing.
In recent years, awareness has been growing of how powerful infrared light can be and its positive effect on the brain. Worldwide, a comparable method has been used for around 30 years — including in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, England, and France — and the number of people benefiting from it keeps growing. Its success is rooted in an age-old, proven method from Asia: its original form, acupuncture, was already practiced there some 2,500 years ago. By comparison, Western medicine is only about 300 years old. Acupuncture is also an officially recognized treatment method according to the WHO.
This can contribute to:
Personal coaching, not just a device
Is IRW enough on its own? No — and that's exactly why this approach is so powerful. Its strength lies in combining a therapeutic conversation with the IRW treatment. That conversation is based on a specific coaching technique, after which the treatment is tailored to the heart of it. Smoking is rarely "just a habit": there's often a deeper cause underneath it.
IRW takes this a step further: the treatment is aimed at tracking down the cause of the complaints, not just easing them. Which answers a common question right away — does an IRW treatment hurt? Quite the opposite: most people experience deep relaxation. But that relaxation is a pleasant side effect, not the goal in itself: the real goal is for the stress complaints to disappear because their cause is being treated.
When sensitivity to addiction is the source of the stress — as is often the case with quitting smoking — a fully tailored coaching and treatment program is used to reduce that sensitivity specifically. A strong sensitivity to addiction is almost always linked to underlying causes such as grief, loss, tension, or low mood — and that's exactly where the coaching is aimed.

Nicotine pouch (snus) addiction: a growing problem
Snus is a nicotine-containing tobacco product, originally from Scandinavia, used as a pouch placed behind the upper lip. Manufacturers often market it as "less harmful," but some pouches contain more nicotine than several cigarettes combined — with possible damage to teeth, jaw, and the nervous system.
IRW also offers a targeted approach for nicotine pouch addiction: the same infrared stimulation on ear points, combined with coaching suited to the world young people live in.
